Ruby Jean Tom, BScN, RN, MEPN, is a dedicated Director of Nursing and Co-owner of Fillosophié Cosmetic Clinic. With a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from York University, Ruby has been a stalwart in the nursing field since her graduation in 2012. Her journey has been diverse, having worked across various units before finding her niche in intensive care units (ICU) in 2014.
During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ruby’s expertise shone brightly as she primarily served at Toronto General Medical Surgical ICU, demonstrating resilience and dedication to patient care. Additionally, she was a crucial member of the critical response team, showcasing her ability to adapt and provide exceptional care amidst unprecedented circumstances.
In 2020, Ruby ventured into the world of aesthetics, enrolling in Centennial College for Medical Esthetic Practitioner Nurses. Ruby immersed herself in comprehensive training sessions focused on botulinum neurotoxins and dermal filler injection techniques, guided by esteemed experts from Prollenium Technologies, Galderma, Clarion, and Merz Pharmaceuticals. She honed her skills in a range of treatments including skin care, lasers, botulinum neurotoxins brands like Dysport, Botox, Nuceiva, Xeomin, hyaluronic acid fillers like Revanesse, Calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) fillers like Radiesse, and Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) fillers like Sculptra. Additionally, she briefly worked in post-op care for a plastic surgeon. Ruby dedicated herself to training sessions in cadaver labs and workshops, further enhancing her expertise and ensuring precision in her practice.
